Terms of Service

Crowd Notes is a live music diary and community service that lets you record concerts you have attended, discover artists, venues and events, and share your experiences with other users. These Terms of Service explain the rules for using Crowd Notes. By creating an account or using features of Crowd Notes that require an account, you agree to these Terms. Last updated 21 September 2026.

1. About Crowd Notes

Crowd Notes is currently operated as a personal project by Dylan Parry.

If you have questions about these Terms, you can contact us through the Crowd Notes contact page or at crowdnotes1@gmail.com.

2. Your account

You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement to create and use a Crowd Notes account.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity carried out through your account.

You should not:

  • share your password with other people;
  • impersonate another person;
  • create an account using someone else's identity or information;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to another account; or
  • deliberately interfere with the operation or security of Crowd Notes.

If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us as soon as possible.

3. Your profile and privacy

Crowd Notes allows you to control certain aspects of how your profile and content are shared.

Public profiles, reviews, ratings, attended shows and photographs may be visible to other users or publicly on the internet where you have chosen to make them public.

You are responsible for considering what information you choose to publish.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the reviews, photographs and other original content that you upload to Crowd Notes.

By uploading content, you grant Crowd Notes a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, display and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate and provide the Crowd Notes service.

This includes displaying public content to other users and providing features such as profiles, reviews, galleries and sharing functionality.

We do not acquire ownership of your content through this licence.

You can delete content where the relevant Crowd Notes feature allows you to do so.

5. Your responsibility for content

You are responsible for the content you upload or publish.

You must have the necessary rights or permissions to upload photographs and other material.

You must not upload or publish content that:

  • infringes another person's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
  • is unlawful;
  • is threatening, abusive or harassing;
  • contains hate speech or promotes hatred against protected groups;
  • impersonates another person;
  • contains spam or malicious material;
  • deliberately attempts to mislead other users; or
  • otherwise seriously disrupts the Crowd Notes community or service.

You should not publish another person's personal information without an appropriate reason or permission.

6. Reviews and ratings

Crowd Notes is intended for genuine experiences of live music.

Reviews and ratings should reflect your genuine experience.

You must not deliberately submit fake reviews, manipulate ratings, or create accounts for the purpose of artificially influencing artists, venues, events or other users.

Crowd Notes does not guarantee that every review, rating or item of user-generated content is accurate.

7. Reporting and moderation

Crowd Notes may provide tools for users to report content or other users.

We may review reported content and take reasonable action where we believe content or activity breaches these Terms or presents a risk to the service or its users.

Depending on the circumstances, action may include:

  • removing or restricting content;
  • limiting account functionality;
  • suspending an account; or
  • permanently terminating an account.

We may also take action where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect the security or integrity of Crowd Notes.

8. Third-party data and services

Crowd Notes incorporates information from external music and event data providers.

This may include information supplied by services such as Spotify, Ticketmaster, Setlist.fm and MusicBrainz.

Crowd Notes does not guarantee that third-party information is complete, accurate, current or continuously available.

Events, artists, venues, setlists and other information may change or contain errors originating from third-party sources.

Crowd Notes may also rely on third-party services for hosting, storage, email delivery, security and other technical functions.

Those services may have their own terms and policies.

9. Intellectual property

The Crowd Notes name, branding, software, design, interface and other material created for Crowd Notes are owned by or licensed to the operator of Crowd Notes, unless stated otherwise.

You may use Crowd Notes for its intended personal purposes, but you must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, reverse engineer or commercially exploit Crowd Notes or its underlying systems without permission, except where permitted by law.

Third-party names, logos, artist information, event information and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.

10. Misuse of the service

You must not:

  • attempt to bypass security or access controls;
  • scrape or systematically collect Crowd Notes data without permission;
  • overload or disrupt the service;
  • introduce malicious code;
  • attempt to access private information belonging to another user;
  • use automated systems to abuse provider APIs or Crowd Notes functionality;
  • circumvent reasonable rate limits or other technical restrictions; or
  • use Crowd Notes for unlawful purposes.

11. Availability and changes

Crowd Notes is provided as an evolving service.

We aim to keep the service available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee that Crowd Notes will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

Features may be changed, added, suspended or removed as the service develops.

Third-party services and data sources may also become unavailable or change their terms, which may affect parts of Crowd Notes.

We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption where practical.

12. Account suspension and termination

You can stop using Crowd Notes and request deletion of your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate an account where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • the account seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms;
  • the account is used for abuse, fraud or unlawful activity;
  • the account presents a security risk; or
  • we are required to do so by law.

Where appropriate, we will give you an opportunity to address an issue before taking action, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary.

Account termination does not affect rights or obligations that arose before termination.

13. Disclaimer and liability

Crowd Notes is provided on an evolving basis and we make reasonable efforts to provide a useful and reliable service.

However, we do not guarantee that:

  • the service will always be available;
  • third-party event or artist information will always be accurate or complete;
  • every feature will operate without errors; or
  • content supplied by users or third parties will always be accurate.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Where permitted by law, Crowd Notes is not responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including failures of third-party services, internet connectivity or events beyond our control.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

14. Changes to these Terms

As Crowd Notes develops, we may update these Terms.

The date at the top of this page will show when they were last updated.

If we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to notify users where appropriate.

Your continued use of Crowd Notes after an updated version takes effect means that you agree to the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights you have under applicable law.
